March 3, 2017, Salt Lake City, UT – Community Nursing Services (CNS) is hosting its Annual Celebration of Art & Soup, March 22nd and 23rd, at the Salt Palace Convention Center Grand Ballroom. Art & Soup is an important event for CNS and the Utah community. All proceeds from Art & Soup support the delivery of charitable home health, hospice and immunization services to people throughout Utah. Established in 1928, Community Nursing Services is Utah’s oldest nonprofit home health and hospice agency. CNS serves all populations including low-income uninsured and underinsured patients.
According to Kimberly Dansie, CNS Vice President, “Everyday people in our community face challenging health issues. CNS is committed to creating moments and experiences that heal individuals and families. With the community’s support through Art & Soup, CNS can accomplish this mission, regardless of an individual or family’s ability to pay. Our participating Art & Soup restaurants generously donate their soup and other culinary delights, and artists kindly donate 30% of their sales to the CNS charitable care program.”
Come Experience Art & Soup
Art & Soup opens in the Salt Palace Ballroom on Wednesday March 22 at 11 am and continues through March 23rd. The hours are from 11am to 2pm and 5pm to 9pm on both days. Visitors will enjoy scrumptious soups and delicious desserts from 24 popular restaurants and visual masterpieces by 44 of Utah’s most celebrated and up-and-coming artists.
This year’s Featured Artist, Kristi Grussendorf, states that “although I began my career in oils, I soon became fascinated by watercolor. With watercolors, it is important to develop a relationship with the medium, focus on the process and react to where the paint wants to go! I would rather invite the viewer to participate instead of connecting-the-dots myself.”
